Corrections
We try hard to get things right, and when we don't, we want to know.
How to report an error
Email hello@winningstax.com with:
- The page it's on (a link is best).
- What it says, and what you believe is correct.
- A source, if you have one: an official publication, statute, primary document or other reliable reference.
Our rules come from the IRS and from state revenue departments, statutes and lotteries. Each page lists its sources and when we last checked them. If a state has changed its law, a link to the new law or the department's announcement is the fastest way to get a page fixed. The methodology page lists the rules we haven't been able to verify; confirmation from a primary source on any of them is especially welcome.
What happens next
We check every report against a primary source. If the page is wrong we fix it, usually within a few days and sooner for anything that could cause harm. Significant corrections are noted on the page with the date they were made.
What we can't change
We don't change accurate information because someone would prefer it said something else, and we don't publish claims we can't verify.
