WinningsTax estimates the federal and state tax on gambling winnings and explains the rules behind the estimate. It is for general information and planning only. The figures are estimates, not the tax you will owe on your return.

We make a genuine effort to keep information current and clearly sourced, but we make no warranty that it is accurate, complete or up to date. Information from third-party sources may be delayed, unavailable or wrong. See our corrections page to report an error.

WinningsTax is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Internal Revenue Service, any state or local tax authority, any lottery, casino, sportsbook, fantasy sports operator or racetrack, or any gaming regulator. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Some links to tax software may be affiliate links, labelled as such, and we may earn a commission if you buy through one. That doesn't change our calculations.
